Nature and conservation
Since our creation, we've worked to foster understanding of the dependence of humans on the natural world and the interconnection of all living things.
Our botanic collection features over 6,000 species of plant from all around the world – plants that feed us, clothe us, house us, keep us healthy, and regulate the climate. The Eden Project is a cathedral to the power and importance of nature.
But our influence extends far beyond the biomes in Cornwall - we work to protect and conserve nature all across the world, and in doing so, help people to connect with the places they live.

National Wildflower Centre
Part of the Eden Project, the National Wildflower Centre (NWC) uses wildflowers to bring biodiversity, delight and colour into the lives of communities across the UK.
From hedges, fields, and woodlands to roundabouts, housing estates, churchyards and cemeteries, we want everyone to experience the glory of wildflowers.
Our projects combine conservation, creativity and colour to make new wildflower habitats that support wildlife and connect people to the natural world.

Nature Connections
We believe that people should be connected to nature.
Over the last 25 years, we have developed extensive expertise in nature recovery and social prescribing. Our Nature Connections programme uses nature-based activities to boost health, wellbeing and learning.
Part of our three-year Nature: Connections and Recovery partnership programme, our flagship Greentime17 campaign focuses on how much of our time surrounded by screens, schedules and everyday pressures. The campaign is a simple invitation to spend 17 minutes a day in nature – wherever you are, whatever the weather, and however you like to do it.

Costa Rica
Eden Project Costa Rica is an ambitious project to restore a "biological corridor" of dry tropical forest while supporting local communities on the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
We started working initially with the Matambú Forest Nature Reserve, which in the last 30 years has regrown a vast swathe of degraded farm land into secondary growth tropical dry forest.
We’re now working across a wider 65,000 hectare protected area on the peninsula. Our ambitious plan is to help to continue the regeneration of this forest and expand its area across the peninsula, encouraging the return of wildlife (including jaguars and tapirs) and working with local communities to create a region that is sustainable both environmentally and economically.
In close collaboration with our partners, we’re creating training and education programmes that encourage business and employment opportunities that align with restoring and protecting the forest.

Wildflower Bank
Our company, the Eden Project Wildflower Bank, aims to create wildflower-rich habitats across the UK through Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Units.
We offer a nature recovery approach which will conserve, manage and restore habitats that enhance biodiversity in partnership with landowners, organisations and businesses looking to invest in a positive gain for nature.

Growing Point plant nursery
Growing Point is the Eden Project's state-of-the-art plant nursery complex, located in Eden's outer estate close to Eden's Biomes.
The nursery is a demonstrator of regenerative sustainability and circular systems in both its construction and operation. Built from light, recyclable materials, it harvests rainwater from the sky and heat from the earth.

Eden Geothermal
The Eden Project is a partner on a groundbreaking geothermal energy project right here on our site, harnessing naturally occurring sustainable energy from the rock deep underground – providing heat to our Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes and brand new state-of-the-art plant nursery.
This project plays a significant role in our journey to net zero and to becoming a climate positive organisation by 2030.

Eden Dock
Eden Dock is a landmark initiative in partnership with Canary Wharf Group that tackles the challenge of biodiversity in urban locations and offers ways to enhance people’s connection with nature.
Once known as Middle Dock, this water front in the centre of London has been reimagined to focus on connecting people with water and nature. The green haven in Canary Wharf features aquatic islands, open spaces, lush gardens and art installations.

The Eden Project: Bring Me Sunshine Garden
To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we created 'The Eden Project: Bring Me Sunshine Garden' – a celebration of hope and regeneration. Debuting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, it received the prestigious RHS Environmental Innovation Award and a Silver-Gilt medal.
Designed in collaboration with young people from Morecambe, the garden is now relocating to the north of England, where it will become part of a new 1.5-acre community garden and living classroom – the first completed feature of Eden Project Morecambe.

Create a Buzz
Create a Buzz, a pollinator project funded by the Garfield Weston Foundation, raises awareness of the plight of pollinators and helps pollinating insects and their habitats to thrive.
As part of the project, seven hectares of annual and perennial wildflower meadows have been sown in our Outer Estate by the National Wildflower Centre, based at Eden.

Our projects
The Fauna & Flora Garden
Designed by award-winning garden designer, Jilayne Rickards for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023, the Fauna & Flora Garden maps the journey of an ecotourist on a gorilla trek, tracing a rough track through a succession of lush and changing landscapes.
Many of the garden's plants were grown in Cornwall, nurtured by horticulturists at the Eden Project. The garden has now been moved from the Flower Show and is on display in Eden's Rainforest Biome.
Our projects
Dubai
Eden co-led the landscape design and visitor experience for Terra, the Sustainability Pavilion, which was the regenerative centrepiece of Expo 2020 Dubai and is now a permanent attraction in Expo City Dubai, the pioneering legacy of the Expo.
Terra was the first Eden Project-designed experience to open outside Cornwall and took the Eden Mission to more than 24 million visitors who visited Expo during its 182-day duration.
